“Sometimes the dignity with which people deal with adversity is most revealing. To tell their stories is an honor. We are challenged in our work not only to examine issues and expose problems but also to find poetry in everyday lives.” Carol Guzy
The Photojournalism Archive Project
The Photojournalism Archive Project aims to document the work of staff photographers whose images are at risk of being lost to history amid the rapid decline of the newspaper industry and the constraints imposed on their ability to preserve their work.
The Project is working to create an online-only, digital archive of photojournalism stories, curated by the photographers. Researchers, students, and the general public will be able to view and study the stories, side-by-side, fully developed as the photographers originally envisioned them.
